Wow now that’s an action packed trailer, even funny at times. Hopefully anyone with doubts about this film will have their minds changed and it will make some money. Neill Blomkamp is an impressive film maker and has shown great promise so I don’t want to see his films fail at the box office. The only excuse is if it doesn’t get good reviews, otherwise I will be furious! On the other side of things we get beautiful visuals, great acting, interesting characters and some new insights into the plot of the film. Hope you enjoy the trailer and stills I managed to grab. Add your comments and likes at the end.

Man of Steel has a Zack Snyder look and feel with a Goyer/Nolan story, and if that is something that appeals to you then Man of Steel is your film. Somehow the team behind this film have made superman both more down to earth than any superman film before whilst also making him far more powerful and raw as a superhero. The visuals are just unbelievable and I’ll devote a paragraph to discussing that, the acting is good and General Zod is just wow. I have heard complaints that the film couldn’t decide between a science fiction film and a superhero film but to be honest that’s idiotic, the two blend perfectly and they did it in such a realistic way I am surprised it hasn’t been done before. I’ll go into much more detail below but for now bookmark this if you are waiting to see the film, leave any comments below, if you have seen the film then check out the spoiler sections and I will look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts.
“My name is General Zod. I have journeyed across an ocean of stars to reach you. Your world has sheltered one of my citizens. He will look like you, but he is not one of you. To those of you who know his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands. To Kal-El, I say this: Surrender within 24 hours, or watch this world suffer the consequences.”
Superman (1978) Review

Superman The Movie is the first big budget superhero film and has earned critical acclaim. And with Man of Steel releasing this weekend I thought it was the right time for me to review this ground breaking film. I haven’t seen this film in full for a while and so it was quite an eye opener, I do not remember the first film being this good. The story, the acting and even the visuals stand up pretty well, or I got a copy where you can’t see the wires either way. To be honest what made this film great is its first half, Donner really tried to portray a serious origin story with his interpretation of Superman and it worked. Marlon Brando was great as Jor-El, Terence Stamp was great as General Zod (forgot he was in the beginning of this) and Glenn Ford played Jonathan Kent with affection. The second half though went a little in a different direction with the second hand car salesmen Lex Luthor. But overall a great film and enjoy the review.
“Live as one of them, Kal-El, to discover where your strength and your power are needed. Always hold in your heart the pride of your special heritage. They can be a great people, Kal-El, if they wish to be. They only lack the light to show them the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you… my only son.”
Box Office Predictions (7-9th June) Results

Well my new feature seems to be doing well, got a lot of likes and comments so I am happy. My actual predictions however could have been better but overall I was surprisingly close on the numbers. The Purge through me off this weekend with stellar numbers and The Internship very much like the film itself disappointed. So check out the final results this weekend and I’ll be back on Friday for the most anticipated release of Man of Steel.
Box Office Predictions (7-9th June)

This is a new feature I am thinking of implementing each week. I know a lot of my followers are stat addicts and being a movie blog I tend to keep an eye on box office figures. The figures can be very important to films, not only for studios but for viewers who want a sequel or to avoid one and if you just want to know your favourite film is doing well. Hopefully good films making money will be a new trend. I’d appreciate any feedback as I am trying it out before the big weekend of Man of Steel’s release.
Man of Steel (Trailer #4) Review

This final trailer gives the doubters nowhere to run. How anyone doesn’t want to watch this film now is just beyond me and this glorious trailer gives me goosebumps. It is AMAZING!!! I will be watching this film in IMAX, it will be great and it will blow my mind! On my previous review of trailer #3 I confessed my ridiculous excitement for this film, and clearly this trailer doesn’t help, I am losing it right now! The trailer started a little freaky like a found footage horror but then Zod’s voice commands your attention and you will listen! We also get what I am assuming is Zod’s theme music which I like, villains need themes and this one is badass! Oh yeah and everything else! Fighting, heat vision, Faora, then more FIGHTING!!! 14th June save the date!
