This final trailer gives the doubters nowhere to run. How anyone doesn’t want to watch this film now is just beyond me and this glorious trailer gives me goosebumps. It is AMAZING!!! I will be watching this film in IMAX, it will be great and it will blow my mind! On my previous review of trailer #3 I confessed my ridiculous excitement for this film, and clearly this trailer doesn’t help, I am losing it right now! The trailer started a little freaky like a found footage horror but then Zod’s voice commands your attention and you will listen! We also get what I am assuming is Zod’s theme music which I like, villains need themes and this one is badass! Oh yeah and everything else! Fighting, heat vision, Faora, then more FIGHTING!!! 14th June save the date!

I don’t usually review trailers for straight to DVD films but this looked interesting and somebody asked me to review it, can’t remember who so sorry about that but here my review. Right from the get go I like the feel, it’s very realistic and grounded with what looks like a slightly futuristic look at space exploration. The idea of physically looking for signs of extra-terrestrial life intrigues me and from what I see they find something, is it good? Nope because that would be a boring film and this looks thrilling. The film has a surprisingly big name Sharto Copley! The guy can’t get enough of aliens and sci fi so he joins the smaller films as well. Love this comment on the trailer “Those damn prawns won’t leave Wikus alone!” kevinbrueck.
Fast & Furious 6 (2013) Review

I don’t even know where to begin. You watch the film and you keep shooting from good to bad to what?! The film is good but not great, it has some strong action and visuals but the story is scattered and the acting is as you’d expect. Unlike Fast Five it’s not great and tries to bring a smart script but ends up messy and just not as simple and focused as the last film. As I said in my trailer review the film looked great and was quite excited to see if the trailer was a glimpse of a great film or a spoiler filled thrill ride. Well that gets explained in the spoiler section. Well here it is the first full trailer to the final film in the Riddick trilogy. I loved the first film, it had a unique feel to it and was so simple it’s hard not enjoy the ride. Then the follow up Chronicles of Riddick which was so far in the opposite direction even I had trouble keeping track of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy elements at play. Now watching this trailer I obviously feel it taking more influence from the first film, stranded on a desert planet, bounty hunters, the nasty monsters come out at night, R RATING! Love it all and I think it will be at the very least fun. Also got some interesting casting going on which I will talk about later, but on that note where the hell Karl Urban? Honestly put him in the trailer! The action looks good, the monsters look scary and Riddick’s eyes are glowing so let’s get this review started! Comment and like at the end please.

I like this trailer it’s got a good realistic feel to it. The visuals look great and it’s an intriguing idea, truly scary because they are alone and if they lose their grip they are gone forever. When I first watched this trailer I thought it was a nightmare I had once (I have nerdy dreams) and obviously to me feels frightening. There’s a scene that got to me, just got chills when that astronaut floats away into the darkness. The director of Children of Men is behind this one and whilst that film isn’t my favourite the concepts where fantastic. The cast is really small for a big budget film, with a grand total of two. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney will be our brave space walkers. My prediction is that one dies and one cries, mwahahahaha!
Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) Review

Star Trek Into Darkness has really up’d the game this summer. It’s going to take something truly epic to take Into Darkness off the top spot in my opinion, looking at you Man of Steel. The story is very good and benefits from the always brilliant plot driver revenge, someone’s really not happy. The acting was great had the same brilliant performances from the first film with the added bonus of Benedict Cumberbatch being full on badass! We also get some great dialogue going in this film, decided to not put a spoiler one in the first paragraph but it’s a great line anyway. Unlike Iron Man 3 you will quote this films villain. Science fiction wise this film gave logic a slight beating but nothing that would make stop and think what? The visuals are just spectacular and it’s the first film this year that I saw any reason to put a pair of 3D glasses on, also recommending full IMAX for this one. With the release of Star Trek Into Darkness this weekend I thought it would be a great time to review part 1 in the nerdiest reboot of all time. This Star Trek was a shockingly good film when it came out and I was very impressed when I first saw, so angry I didn’t get to see in IMAX but either watching it on a phone or the big screen this film was excellent. The story was clever and allowed for both an origin story of the original and a whole new path for the franchise, Abram’s you sneaky Bastard. The cast is great and I loved their interpretations of the characters, some interesting choices for the roles but they paid off with some great performances. The visuals are amazing and are truly breath-taking, from the halls of the Enterprise to the epic battles in space. The science fiction is fascinating but for the new generation a little heart pounding action is required and that’s what this film does well in many different ways. I hope you all enjoy the new Star Trek this weekend and come back for my review on Friday. Live long and prosper \\//.

Pacific Rim (Trailer #2) Review

This massive Wondercon trailer is one gigantic and beautiful scene after another. This film is really trying to beat the idea of giant scale into our minds and personally it’s working for me. I will be watching this film in IMAX, it will be the best film ever made and as God as my witness Del Toro will get an Oscar! On my previous review of Trailer #1 I confessed my ridiculous excitement for this film, and clearly this trailer doesn’t help, I might actually go crazy waiting for this! The thing you notice about the trailer is a lot more behind the scenes detail such as the command center and well just people in general, and we see Charlie day for the first time talking about understanding the enemy (he is a scientist). Then we go over a few scenes showing how the Jaegers work with mind melding and such. We also get an insight into how the war with the Kaiju has been going, but after that its 2,500 tonnes of awesome with lots and lots of battle scenes and Giant Robot action! 12th July save the date!
Evil Dead (2013) Review

It wasn’t bad as an average horror film but I expected better and was ultimately disappointed by this gory but sadly unappealing remake. Now don’t start getting at me with being a downer. I am an optimist when it comes to films, and I judge films equally and so this review isn’t average because I didn’t like the original being remade. Here is my optimistic Trailer Review, and I loved the Original Trilogy which I have also Reviewed. The reason this film is average is because it’s just like everything else in horror, gore increases, story and character become meaningless. Oh and when a film claims to be the scariest I will ever see, I don’t think it is wrong to expect at least to be scared once.
Oblivion (2013) Review

Not what I was expecting at all. The first of big science fiction films coming out this spring and it was surprising treat both in its original story and breath taking visuals. If you have seen the trailer and made your mind up think again because it really goes in different directions and I hope everyone goes out to give it a go. The acting was very good, the characters were good and the dialogue was good. It may not be for everyone but I struggle to find any complaints and have plenty to compliment as you will find as you read on. I would recommend the IMAX as it’s a great film with eye popping visuals. There will be a spoiler section but other than that this is spoiler free so no need to worry. Leave any comments below I look forward to hearing everyone’s views.
