Since the ‘Expendables 2’ is coming out next month I thought it would be fun to do ‘the best of’ for the three biggest action stars, done Schwarzenegger a while ago and will link that below, a couple of weeks ago I did Willis’s best films and now I am doing Stallone’s best films and worst because I am not a huge fan of his. Just to point out that Stallone is a terrible actor and this list is so small that I am even including two of his films that I don’t like because it’s relevant to another release (Dredd). I haven’t actually watched a great deal of his films but apparently everything that isn’t part one of the series below is awful (well three other films that are apparently good but I haven’t seen them), cant verify that but I don’t particular like his work so I won’t be paying to see his worst (worst list not going to happen just this post).

The Cabin in the Woods (2012) Re-Review

Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes The Cabin in the Woods, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out. That’s the description released by Lionsgate, so does it live up to its hype? Yes, yes it does.
Winner of The Best of Bruce Willis

Since the ‘Expendables 2’ is coming out next month I thought it would be fun to do ‘the best of’ for the three biggest action stars, done Schwarzenegger a while ago and will link that below, this is obviously Willis’s best films and next week I will be doing Stallone’s best films. Just to point out that although films like ‘Pulp Fiction’ are excellent Willis was not the main character so will not be on the list. But that won’t hold back Bruce because he has done some great films mainly action but also some great Sci-Fi which makes me a fan.
Stake Land (2011) Review

Surprisingly good, truly an old school vampire film which I have seen in a while. I wish there were more films like this around as they would save the reputation of vampires (Twilight nearly killed it forever). The film is a great piece of storytelling, which works well focusing on a classic hunter of the scourge which is vampires. Strangely it’s what I would like to see a bit more of in the walking dead here’s hoping for season 3. It’s a well-crafted atmospheric apocalyptic vision.

The film is to me just another ghost story, I don’t really care for them. But at least this goes for more chills than in your face horror. I heard good things about this film and I get why people would like it because it’s the best of its kind for a while.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) Review

It has a few flaws, but for a first installment of the rebooted Spiderman franchise it is better than any of the original films, especially Spiderman 3! The characters especially where far better this time around with Andrew showing Toby how to play Peter Parker. I will be looking forward to the next films in this great new Spiderman reboot. But I would love to see flaws I found fixed, they are so small though that a sequel would be able to see and fix them.
