Man of Steel (Trailer #2) Review

This is my first trailer review and I thought I would start doing them when I see one I know I could talk about, well this is one I can talk about. Wow this trailer was spectacular and a real bump up from the teaser trailers that came before it. This trailer if nothing else looks like The Man of Steel will be the superman film fans have been waiting for, and as a fan I am rather giddy because it really blew me away. Bring on June!
Man of Steel - Banner

Score: A

Top 3 Scenes

3. The Kent’s at the farm
Man of Steel - The Farm
I really liked the look of the farm and the young Clark father son talk, it has the sun going through the mist and with that field and the silo it really was Smallville. I am hoping that this origin is really good because its something that we haven’t really seen in any specific light.
2. Zod’s first appearance
Man of Steel - Zod
I didn’t know what he was going to look like or whether it would be menacing or not, thankfully it’s looking pretty sharp with him wearing what looks to be kryptonian armour. I have very little doubt Michael Shannon will be a fantastic villain.
1. Superman’s take off
Man of Steel - The Take Off
That’s the single greatest scene in this trailer and I literally can’t wait to see that in IMAX. The take off seems so powerful and to me almost looks like one of those brilliant shots off a cartoon that very rarely gets truly captured by live action, but Zack Snyder knows his visuals and I loved them in this trailer.
Well that’s my views. Now what do you think about this newest trailer? Also what do think about me doing trailer reviews?

I’m “very much” looking forward to this… I know a lot of people are already comparing it to Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, but I’m certain it will stand on it’s own as a fantastic movie 🙂

I’m not the biggest fan of the monologue Supes is giving at the end with the pensive question. It’s kinda outta place for me. BUT, I still can’t wait to check out the movie for sure

I didn’t need the trailer to be good to make me want to see this. I have been preparing for this movie since the release date was announced. It’s been over 30 years since there has been a good Superman movie and I am hoping that will change in 2013.

This looks incredible! I think they’re starving the audience on Michael Shannon’s scenes for now. He’s the wild card, and I think he’ll wind up stealing the show. I’m definitely a little worried about the soundtrack, the score from the original will never be outdone.

you have given me yet another reason for watching this amazing trailer again, lol. 😀 thanks!

This trailer looks SO GOOD!!!! FINALLY!!! I was also so worried Shannon was going to look stupid and he looks excellent!! Great work!!

The look of the film, at least in the trailer, is compelling. Worthy of the iconic subject matter. Given what we heard though, a re-use of the Han Zimmer soundtrack to ‘Gladiator’, it makes me wonder what the filmmakers will deploy for this. Certainly, what only added to the Richard Donner’s magnificent 1978 Superman film was its equally well done John Williams score. Let’s hope Zack Snyder won’t leave that as an afterthought. Good post at this, Tim.

Thank you, apparently the score being done by Hans for this will be on the third trailer, it isn’t finished yet according to people in the know 😀

Everything else is perfect and I love how few spoilers it gives away, the only thing I want in the next trailer is one line from Zod and Lois and the score of couse 😀
