Evil Dead (Red Band Trailer #1) Review
Warning this is a sick trailer with graphic violence and REAL horror elements. Now I don’t mind remakes, never really bothered me as long as they are done well, a good films a good. However I did get worried about this one getting remade because it is a favourite of mine, but after watching this trailer it looks crazy good. The visuals are bloody brilliant, the acting seems pretty good and to say the least this doesn’t in anyway look like anything less than an 18 (M). Surprisingly I don’t mind that girl playing this films version of Ash mainly because she has to cut her arm off and that is just so damn cool (groovy), oh I really hope she says that line at some point! We get some fantastic scenes from the original film such as the roads out being closed, the tree rape and the possessed girl talking out of the cellar door, that scene is looking really creepy so well done guys who made this. On a side note that last scene with the cutting through the middle of her tongue is horrible, just makes me cringe horribly, still it’s very good.
My Score: A
In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five friends hole themselves inside a remote cabin. When they discover a mysterious book, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods.
Top 5 Scenes
5. The Cabin In The Woods
I really like this shot because it shows the classic cabin from the original films but also it has these wonderful wiry branches that appear to be creeping up to the cabin from the sides of the view. Incredible creepy and fits the theme of the film perfectly.
4. She Saw Something Bad
Wow is that a good horrified look, she can really do a lot of facial expressions, so she’s like the opposite of Kristen Stewart. What I really like about shots of this nature is that one I don’t know what she is so horrified by but two that I really want to know, so bring on April.
3. Tree Rape, TREE RAPE!
I am 99% sure she is about to get raped by a tree in the scene above. I am not weird and just jump to that; it was a famous scene from the original film. Can’t really justify it but it is evil and this film is about the evil dead so it all works to that goal.
2. Sawed Off Shotgun
I love this shot because it has a fantastically simple display, Birdseye view, plain wooden table and the items on it spread out. Why I like the items, one the book of evil wrapped in plastic and string to keep people from reading (doesn’t work), two the sawed off shogun which is so iconic from the original films and I really hope it plays a part in this film.
1. Damn Creepy Scene
This scene is probably the most iconic from the original film and delivered some of the best lines which you will not forget, I really hope they get this scene right in the film because it can so easily deliver some fantastic taunting lines and so far it looks both creepy and clever.
Well that’s my views. Now what do you think about this newest trailer?
