Despicable Me 2 (Trailer #3) Review
Full disclosure I loved the first one and this trailer review is going to be super biased. The trailer is hysterical and I love the way it simply tells a little of the story rather than giving away spoilers. I know what it’s about and want to see it and they did that without me even seeing the villain or anything more than a few very brief scenes. We clearly still get that weird rap music that somehow totally works in this film. Steve Carell is back to play Gru and Kristen Wiig should be great. We also get Al Pacino playing the main villain which obviously should be really fun in this type of film. Below are the newest trailer and my favourite scenes, so please comment at the end.
My Score: A
Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s worldwide blockbuster, “Despicable Me,” delighted audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. In Summer 2013, get ready for more minion madness in “Despicable Me 2.” Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy animated adventure featuring the return of Gru (Steve Carell), the girls, the unpredictably hilarious minions… and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.
Top 5 Scenes
5. Cutest Moment of the Whole Trailer
It’s so ridiculously cute. It also provides proof that they are not going to mess with the great dynamic between the girls and Gru, funny and unusual. From what I can tell they have grown up maybe a year or two but act just as qwerky and fun to watch.
4. Fire and Ice
It’s Funny how the symbolism could be applied to this still. The ice ray is fired by a person who has become warmer and the fire gun is used by a good guy who appears cold. Funny scene though with the Eminem music playing over the whole scene from him getting out of the house to the minions chasing the car. It’s weird how that music suits this film.
3. Going Full James Bond
Committing to a James Bond theme throughout this trailer is clever when it comes to heroes and villains without powers. Underwater cars, gadgets, secret bases and a British guy in charge with a ridiculous name now let the hilarity ensue.
2. Gru with Flamethrower
Something about Gru playing with a flamethrower with such glee is really fun to watch. Then of course the firemen minions burst in with hilarious results. I want one of those minions right now, or two axes to repeat the chaos.
1. Pins and Needles
I loved this scene because it sums up the humour of the first film so well. There is a big scenario which concentrates on a small problem. Pins and needles! Not why did you kidnap me?! Very funny. Hope it’s as good as the first film and makes lots of kids laugh.
Well that’s my views. Now what do you think about this newest trailer?
