Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) Review

Watching this film might be the most disappointed I have ever been in a Cinema. I have been waiting years for this film. Hyped right from the start and only built since then. So yeah this was a really, really bad film. The story was to say the least convoluted and stuffed with 6 films worth of concepts which just made it messy. The acting was either bad or they were given nothing to work with, and don’t get me started on the dialogue. Boo, just BOOO!

“20 years in Gotham Alfred, we’ve seen what promises are worth, how many good guys are left? How many stay that way.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Comic-Con Trailer #1) Review

YES!!! Holy crap batman we have gosh darn trailer! I am exceedingly excited for this film. I get what the film is now and the characters within it, but it didn’t show anything of any real consequence (no spoilers). The dialogue is fascinating and already from the trailer an improvement over the last film. The score sounds fantastic and truly epic! The action and effects look spectacular, and I cannot wait to dive into more detail so enjoy the review and please tell me your initial reactions to this new trailer, more so if you disagree.

“People hate what they don’t understand. Be their hero Clark, be their angel, be their monument, be anything they need you to be. Or be none of it. You don’t owe this world a thing, you never did.” – I really like this line.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Teaser #1) Review

So are teasers just trailers that leave you more puzzled than when you started? Yes Tim, yes they are. About time they showed something. Wait, no still 11 months away. Why are they showing this? In no way am I complaining this was a very welcomed treat. My excitement for this film has ticked up which is impressive because I was already frothing from the mouth with excitement (Maybe a little rabies). The film is clearly influenced by the events of Man of steel and I want to see how this will be weaved into The Dark Knight Returns story that is clearly the basis for this films plot. Loved the clippings of voices describing the differing viewpoints of this “hero”. Enjoy the review and please tell me your initial reactions to this new trailer, more so if you disagree.

“That’s how it starts. The fever, the rage…the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men cruel”

Superhero Casting Calls: Batman V Superman

This post will mostly follow the same path as the last post I did on the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman (here) but will feature all the new castings and what I think of them from a comic book point of view and a big film nerd. First I’d like to look at both sides of the coin…and then go ballistic at the end. First we’ll see who’s been officially cast and why they may be good in the role, I’ll include arguments from around the web and plenty of MEME’S. Then lastly I will discuss the problems I see and other angry nerds have voiced around the world. Fun times ahead.

If you like the post then I may do more casting reactions or something similar again. Please enjoy and I look forward to some interesting comments.

Now You See Me (2013) Review

This film looked good and I expected something clever and fun based off the trailer and story. Well after seeing it I got one of those, it was definitely fun but not very smart at all. The film was filled plot problems but runs at fast speed so you don’t notice many. The cast is alright and some are funny but the characters don’t get fleshed out and I couldn’t care less about them. The magic is weak and I expect smarter tricks than what I actually saw. I’ll go into much more detail below but for now bookmark this if you are waiting to see the film, leave any comments below, if you have seen the film then check out the spoiler sections and I will look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts.

“If you could re-enact that look of absolute befuddlement, it would be perfect for the cover of my DVD.”
