This has taken far too long to review but here we are. I really liked this film and when I first heard of it I didn’t care, love a pleasant surprise. Its action packed, funny, got a great voice cast, and the story is quite touching, very much to my surprise. The visuals in this are great, I really thought the mix of Stop-motion and CGI was very impressive; I was often unable to see the difference in the film. The characters are either really funny or are great character parodies. I’ll go into much more detail below but for now bookmark this if you are waiting to see the film, if you have seen the film then check out the spoiler sections and I will look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts.
“I know what you’re thinking, he’s the least qualified person to lead us…and you’re right!”
This my ‘The Takening’ review, sorry I mean ‘Taken 2’ Review and it’s a bit of a mixed bag of a film really. The story is pretty obvious and a little silly at times. The acting is pretty good from Liam Neeson as always but most of the cast fail to act at all. The films visuals were good, nothing special but I did like the car chases. Basically it’s a film I would watch if it was on TV but not pick it to watch over other films. Like the first film, I would watch that on purpose. This film isn’t really suitable for sequels and it suffers because of that obvious fact.
This list contains the very best action films from the last decade and really represent the genre well. Please leave any comments or suggestions for movies I may have missed or your opinion of my list choices.
Next Monday I will be posting worst movies of the decade so look out for that one.
Battleship was a fun action packed blockbuster and would recommend it to others who like the big explosions without much character building or in depth plot.Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.
